Gender Equality Plan Development in Universities: A Strategic Management Perspective

Abstract

L'uguaglianza di genere e l'empowerment delle donne di tutte le età sono obiettivi universali. Il raggiungimento dell'uguaglianza di genere richiede azioni che attraversano diversi settori politici, dall'istruzione, la protezione sociale e il mercato del lavoro ai diritti di proprietà, i sistemi fiscali, le infrastrutture e la governance. I piani per l'uguaglianza di genere (GEP) sono una componente delle politiche europee volte a migliorare l'uguaglianza di genere nelle organizzazioni di istruzione superiore, come le università. Questo studio si concentra sul processo di sviluppo dei GEP attraverso l'uso della ricerca-azione. Un'università italiana è considerata un caso di studio adatto. L'approccio adottato nello studio è quello interventista. A tal fine, gli autori sono stati direttamente coinvolti nel processo di definizione del GEP dell'Università di Messina, coinvolgendo, formando e coordinando gli stakeholder dell'organizzazione e redigendo il documento del GEP. Questo lavoro contribuisce sia alla letteratura che alla pratica. In primo luogo, fornisce un approccio allo sviluppo del GEP basato sulla teoria della pianificazione e gestione strategica che potrebbe essere applicato ad altre organizzazioni e settori governativi. Inoltre, descrivendo il processo di sviluppo del GEP dell'Università, contribuisce anche alla letteratura e diffonde tecniche analitiche connesse al mainstreaming di genere nelle istituzioni italiane.
