Euristiche e bias nei processi decisionali non profit

Scopo – Questo studio esplora le euristiche del giudizio e dei bias cognitivi nei processi valutativi, di giudizio e decisionali all’interno delle organizzazioni, focalizzandosi sulle realtà non profit a base volontaristica. L’obiettivo è valutare se e come la natura volontaria e non lucrativa di tali enti possa influenzare la frequenza, l’intensità e l’impatto di questi meccanismi cognitivi.
Disegno/metodologia/approccio dello studio – L’autore esprime un documento teorico-concettuale e un punto di vista che tiene conto di letteratura afferente a differenti discipline socioeconomiche.
Risultati – Il contributo oltre a riflettere sulle decisioni di gruppo e sugli ostacoli all’assunzione di scelte ottimali, suggerisce che, a causa della potenziale minore attenzione a risultati economici diretti e per la natura spesso volontaristica, nelle organizzazioni non profit caratterizzate da dinamiche relazionali meno gerarchiche il ricorso a processi euristici con conseguenti bias cognitivi potrebbe essere più accentuato anche in modo inconsapevole, con potenziali ripercussioni sulla qualità delle decisioni.
Implicazioni e limitazioni della ricerca – Pur mancando un’indagine empirica, il documento offre spunti di riflessione utili per migliorare la consapevolezza e il presidio attivo dei fenomeni cognitivi distorsivi nei contesti decisionali. Le implicazioni sociali che scaturiscono dovrebbero stimolare ulteriori ricerche sperimentali-comparative con le metodologie descritte nel presente articolo.
Originalità/valore – L’originalità risiede nell’applicazione dei concetti di euristica e bias al settore non profit, ambito raramente esplorato ma di grande rilevanza per la qualità della governance e dei processi partecipativi, nonché per l’efficacia e l’equità dei processi decisionali.
